As usual, I cooked a few dishes this week. But the main character was a dessert!! I love this dessert...and it was one of my good touch! I called this dessert as Caramel Apple Crunch, I learned it from my ex-housemate. This dessert was a perfect match from the outer crunch formed by flour and sugar to the inner soft but yet crispy apple filling. From the first bite, u get the crunchy outer skin, following was the soft apple with its original flavour. This was indeed a perfect dessert!
It is not hard to make this dessert though. First, we prepare a bowl of flour batter, how much of batter would you need depends on the quantity of your apple, I do make a guess! lol~
Next, cut your apple into small cutlet, one small apple can be cut into 8 small pieces. Hot the wok and pour in some oil. In the meanwhile, dip the apple into the batter, once the oil is hot, you can fry the apple.(a small tips to make sure the oil is hot: test the temparature of the oil with a chopstick, once you see there are bubbles came up from the side of the chopstick, it means the oil is ready.) Fried the apple until it is golden brown, put it aside to drip off the extra oil. Next, we will want to make the caramel. Left just a little bit of oil in the wok, put in all the apple into the wok once again, pour in some white sugar(depends on the sweetness that you prefer), fry it until you see the sugar is melt and you can turn off the fire. A plate of a aromatic caramel apple crunch is ready to be served!
