What a fulfilling saturday! Well spent with my sis and 2 of my best of the best friends....
We were dating each other for tiramisu baking on the last weekend, following by a 2 hours badminton session which is mainly for my poor badminton skill training lessons conducted by my dear sister, who is the so called "supervisor" of the day, haha....well, she is the one who is only responsible for giving "speech", instructing people and photography of the baking process! lol~
We were just too lucky on that day! We reached ph house just at the right time! or else we will have to climb up 13th floor of staircase with packs of baking utensils and ingredients. The lift was out of order a few minutes before our arrival! phewh.....ho cai!!
Hmm....but the luck was not following us to our baking session. We need 5 egg yolks and sugar but ended up with 5 eggs due to my carelessness when we just started to prepare the sponge cake batter. arrghhh.....what to do with the eggs??!! Alright! Lets turn it into pan cake with chocolate fondue later...OK. Decided how to settle it, pour out the eggs and set it aside. And now, lets start all over again!
mistake! mistake!
We have 10 eggs but now we wasted 5 of them. We do not have enough eggs for the tiramisu filling...so ph went out to get extra eggs for us plus flour for the pan cake. 3 of us continue with the sponge cake. Now, lets the photo tells the process. =)
she is praticing how to divide the egg yolk and egg white
Yes! This is what we want!
20g of sugar
whipped till light and creamy
See...this is how it should be.
she also wants to hands on.
The egg white mixture is now foamed a stiff peak. But not too overwhipped!!
I need 80ml of melted butter.
The batter of sponge cake
Let's wait for 30 minutes!
Well, I have to scold myself for not well-planning the baking procedure. We bought the ready made sponge fingers for the tiramisu-in-cup. So, we can actually starts earlier to prepare the tiramisu filling in the meantime of preparing the sponge cake. We wasted too much time resulting an hour delay of our badminton session!!
Now for the tiramisu filling....
Mascarpone Cheese. Whisk manually NOT using mixer! I'm actually using my hand, the mixer is OFF.
Gelatine, smells "good"!
2 tbsp of coffee powder
30mins over...."Ding"!
Test it with skewer/knife from center.
Nice aroma.......
After refrigerated for about 3 hours(it is best to chilled for 3-4 hours before served), it is ready to removed from the mould. Taadarr....
Slowly....Steady....
The Tiramisu-In-Cup with ready made sponge fingers and also our home baked sponge cake. The sponge fingers are a bit too sweet for my liking. However, it is still taste good as a whole!
We are enjoying it! Aammmm.....Nnmmmm.....Slurpppp.....
Next was our playful photography session. We 不惜色相, "beautified" ourselves for shooting and then broke into laughter! It was indeed a happy tiramisu day!!
LOL!!!!!
Well coated and nice top of with chocolate powder. The taste was great and not to disappoint us. Proudly presented, it taste nothing less than excellent! Especially when mum and dad have the first bite on it, mum's instant sincere facial expression tells me how good it is! She love it! hehe....
Also, this was the first time dad nodded his head and thumbs up for the cake! Rich coffee and chocolate flavour mix well with smooth and creamy mascarpone cheese filling layered with light french sponge cake just catch his taste buds! Compare to the previous cheese cake, he always commented that it is not "cooked" for his speaking as he don't like cheesy stuffs. Really don't know "yan siong"(enjoy the cake)...lol~ Anyhow, he enjoyed it this time!
Father, Mother, Sisters, we all LOVE THIS!
